Tectyl Multipurpose Amber is a wax based, solvent cutback, amber colored corrosion preventive. It has good water displacing and penetration properties, making it very suitable as a versatile corrosion protective for a wide variety of applications: automotive, marine, household and industrial.
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber cures to an amber colored, waxy, semi-firm translucent film.
At the recommended DFT, Tectyl Multipurpose Amber will protect against corrosion during storage, domestic and overseas transport.
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber can protect parts stored inside as well as outside.
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber is easy to apply and easy to remove, when no longer needed.
With a Dry Film Thickness of only 50 microns, Tectyl Multipurpose Amber can protect a big surface with just a little amount of the product.
Surface Preparation
The maximum performance of Tectyl Multipurpose Amber can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale. CorPro recommends a substrate temperature of 10-35 °C at the time of product application.
Application
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber gives a maximum performance when it is sprayed at an ambient and product temperature of 10-25 °C. Shake the can well before use and spray at a distance of approximately 30 cm from the surface.
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber is fast-drying, and this can cause ‘pin-holing’ when applied too thick at once. It is advised to spray one layer per pass, wait for 2 to 3 minutes and then spray another layer. Continue like this until the required film thickness has been obtained.
Removal
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber can be removed in the wet phase with Tectyl Biocleaner, Tectyl 150 or low-pressure steam. If dried and cured Tectyl Multipurpose Amber can be removed with Tectyl 150 or Tectyl Biocleaner.
Storage
Tectyl Multipurpose Amber should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Do not freeze Tectyl Multipurpose Amber. Shake well before use. Under proper storage conditions Tectyl Multipurpose Amber is best before 36 months after production date.
