Due to the viscosity Tectyl 3217 E is easy to apply and forms excellent film formation at suitable layer thickness for highest efficiency.
With a dry to touch time of 30-60 minutes and a cure time of 8 hours Tectyl 3217 E is a fast-drying protective coating.
Surface Preparation
The maximum performance of Tectyl 3217 E can be achieved only when the metal surfaces to be protected are clean, dry and free of rust, oil and mill scale. CorPro recommends a substrate temperature of 10-35 °C at the time of product application.
Application
Tectyl 3217 E is formulated to be used as supplied. CorPro recommends that the ambient and product temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application. Always ensure uniform consistency prior to use. Avoid contamination with other products in pumps and lines. CorPro recommends that the ambient and product temperature be 10-35 °C at the time of product application. For application Tectyl 3217 E CorPro recommends a low pressure airspray application or airless application with a small airless nozzle. Details on application can be found in the application chart.
Removal
Tectyl 3217 E is not intended for removal.
In the wet phase Tectyl 3217 E can be removed with water or with Tectyl Biocleaner. If dried and cured Tectyl 3217 E can be removed with ethyl acetate.
Storage
Tectyl 3217 E should be stored at temperatures between 10-35 °C. Do not freeze Tectyl 3217 E. Mild agitation is recommended prior to use. Due to its composition Tectyl 3217 E can be subject to postproduction viscosity changes during storage. Under proper storage conditions Tectyl 3217 E is best before 12 months after production date.
